Ok you are looking for a property in Malta or Gozo.
Whats your first step ? You contact the estate agents of course.
Here we are going to talk about our experience with using a Maltese high street estate agent. When we set up Maltese Property Finders as a company it was always our view to give as good a service as we offered in the UK (we were estate agents in the UK obviously not trading under the same name 
)
When we speak to many buyers/sellers/tenants and landlords there seems to be many reoccurring factors when dealing with estate agents the are..
1. I left my details with the estate agent but they do not get back to me
2. They showed me many properties that were not what I asked for and even way above my budget.
3. They told me that my farmhouse, apartment was worth x amount and i have not had any viewings and now they are telling me to drop the price.
4. They did not take me seriously and assumed that I was wasting their time
The list is endless but hopefully you will understand where we are coming from. As expats we have made the move from the UK which if you are buying in Malta or Gozo or indeed looking for a rental you can at least understand that we have had the same problems that you have had.
I myself ran offices in the UK and worked for the biggest estate agency chain in the country and I have to say if the estate agents opperated in the same way they would very quickly learn that people will go to other agents (most of which offer a superior service when dealing with the general public)
Maltese Property Finders are the only estate agents from the UK that are based in Gozo. There is of course another estate agency from the UK that are based in Malta and I have to say I have heard nothing but good reports about them.

Most of our properties listed( about 90% ) are from foreign sellers/landlords etc as bad news travels fast so does good and we are very confident when you hear the name Maltese Property Finders that you will hear nothing but good reports.
